MICHAEL WATSON'S RIGHT FIST and PHIL TUFFNEL'S SPIN BOWLING GRIP

I'm in the early stages of a hugely exciting project to cast celebrities and auction them at a grand opening party in a London. The first people to offer themselves to be cast were boxer Michael Watson, cricketer Phil Tufnell and Monty Python actress Carol Cleveland. Proceeds will go to charity. This is a very worthy, high prestige project. If you'd like to know more or know any other celebs who you think will find getting a cast made for charity amusing, please get in touch for more details...

My Sculpture on show with Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin

raises £3500 for Macmillan

November 8th 2007 - The Arts Club, Mayfair, London

"WAKE UP (AND SMELL THE COFFEE)"

I produced this sculpture especially for the Macmillan DeLonghi charity auction. Cast directly from a woman's body in coffee beans and resin, this sensual sculpture begs you to wake up and touch her curves and smell the gentle aroma of roasted coffee. All proceeds raised by the auction will contribute directly to the total raised from Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to help improve the lives of people living with cancer. I'm delighted to anounce that the sculpture made £3500 ( £1000 more than the estimate). Julie-Anne Gilburt in whose gallery my studio is raised £2520. Including the piece which I bought at the auction, the JAG Gallery are proud to have raised a total £6370 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Car-bon Miles, the pedal-powered road car

December 31st 2007, Newcastle

See my her lit up by SOLAR POWER in the Newcastle Glowmobile Car Parade...

I WON!!! The Kyoto Prize for the greenest, cleanest machine in the Manchester Art Car Parade!!

pedal powered green Trabant car

I turned a vehicle into a moving artwork for the UK's first Art Car Parades this September and October and December. My car, Car-bon Miles, was awarded the first prize - the prestigeous Kyoto Award for the most environmentally friendly car. I converted an old East German Trabant, the most poluting car ever, into a pedal powered vehicle to create the least poluting car ever. In this, the 50th anniversary year of the Trabant, I'm highlighting the problems facing us with increasing vehicle numbers. Using humour to attract attention to the issue is my way of getting the public to consider the impact of cars on our environment, our health and our future.

The second event was the Car Free Day sponsored by Brighton Council. After that was the Blackpool Illuminated Art Car Parade on October 21st for which I added neon flowers in pots on the roof and other lights, powered by a solar panel. The next will be New Year's Eve in Newcastle. My little 'trabcycle' will then appear at events all over the country, amusing people and spreading the environmental message. Seeking Picasso

"10 Artists, 12 Weeks, 75 Artworks. Who wins? YOU Decide!"  Well, actually I do. I'm currently a judge in this fascinating 'Pop Idol' style competition to find the next big talent. A combination of public votes, eBay sales and the judges opinions will lead to the elimination of one artist every week until we find our star... See Seeking Picasso for more info.

Studio in Cannes

July 2006

Last summer I set up a successful lifecasting studio in Cannes, France. I attracted lifecasting commissions from members of the public by staging demonstrations on the beach and a cheerful leafleting campaign. I was also lucky to have an exhibition at Atelier 43 , a local artist's gallery in the centre of town, which continues to represent me now that I am back in the UK. I also managed to find time to take a stone carving course with the wonderful and talented Mougins sculptor, Tiziano. His enigmatic sculpture of Napoleon, at the very end of Route Napoleon in Cannes, brings amusement and wonder to thousands every day. Good on you, Tiziano. Can't wait to start on some marble sculptures next summer...
