My work spans a huge range of themes. The undercurrent though in many pieces is socio-political. Whilst at art school in the USA I worked in fundraising for environmental groups. I came to understand the power of grass roots campaigning. Prior to that I'd worked on a peace boat. This fervent socio-political side of me began to come out in my work. I'm adamant that art has the power to effect societal change. It certainly has a role to play to communicating social concepts. It gets under the radar and can get a message across before it turns people off. These works all have a social purpose or highlight social issues that I decided to address through my art.
